Love this shirt. Along with a great message the fabric is thick and high quality. I would say it's in the middle on softness but because it's 100% cotton it will get comfier with age and isn't unpleasant (even with my sensory issues) to wear currently. My favorite part is that the tag is made to tear out perfectly cleanly (and does!) for a tag free experience very important to my sensory needs. Not having to break out a seam ripper is great. I really recommend this shirt and will happily buy shirts from Carla in the future.
